Many of you know me because you have bought your Christmas trees from Thayer Nursery, our family business on Hillside Street. Our nursery has been a happy, green gathering place for plants and garden materials since 1965 when my father, Bob Oldfield, returned to his hometown to raise a family. Besides growing a business, my father served on the Milton School Committee, Conservation Commission, and was a long-time Town Meeting Member. We were raised to be active in our community.
